Powerline Ethernet Modem - MOD-ETH

Overview

Part of the DimOnOff® Powerline product line, the MOD-ETH Powerline-Ethernet Modem is ideal for  enabling Remote Monitoring & Control, Scheduling, Diagnostic and Automation of remote sites, communicating with a central host computer through an Ethernet network.

No PC is necessary at the remote site; only an Ethernet connection at both remote and central host site, and a Server-PC at the central host site.

The MOD-ETH Powerline Modem is a device designed to enable communication of Powerline data between 120 to 347VAC power lines, and an Ethernet network. An analog front end performs the signal conditioning and couples the modulated signals with the power lines. The modem is powered by a built-in power supply (120-347VAC).

The MOD-ETH Powerline Modem, properly configured with an IP address, will communicate with its host PC as a virtual COM Port (Hostname IP + TCP Port), enabling the DimOnOff®  Software platform to monitor activity on remote-site powerline, as well as controlling various powerline modules on the remote-site powerline network, as they are now communicating on a same extended network.

Features

  • Communicates on 120-347 VAC power lines, and should be used with Phase Couplers-Repeaters and Voltage couplers when other voltages are to be used within a powerline communication network
  • LED indicators for Power, CPU, CFG and Tx/Rx
  • Reliable powerline communication in high attenuation (0.5Ω min.) and noisy electrical environments
  • Ethernet Network compatible
  • Includes protection against disturbances on the power line
