OVERVIEW
The REL-R-15 is a relay that provides remote control of loads up to 15 Amps-347V.
Based on DimOnOff'S reliable wireless PLC technology (uses existing electrical wiring of a building, therefore no dedicated control wiring) this Receive-only module facilitates and minimizes the costs of installation of building automation systems, as it may be used as an extension of a BACnet network, on the powerline.
It integrates perfectly with energy-management systems and best-practices, when used with one or several controllers (transmit-enabled), such as:
- An occupancy sensor or Lux sensor (via sensor circuit INT-MIO)
- A thermostat (0-10V output) or a temperature sensor (via sensor circuit INT-MIO)
- Interfaced to a BACnet system, using BACnet thermostats and via the SW-BACnet Interface module
- Directly with the DimOnOff® Configuration, Control & Monitoring software.
With the different modules of the DimOnOff product family, complex automation environments can be setup and operated simply and cost less than traditional wired systems.
The module features a rugged design that allows to be installed inside the compartment of a standard heating baseboard.

PROGRAMMABle functions
The REL-R-15 offers various programmable functions, such as:
- Selectable Automatic On/Off/LastState, on power up, depending on type of model
- Delayed power up, with a user-defined delay (in sec.)
- Ramp Up/Down: Go to the maximum level or dims off within a specified number of seconds
- Go to Setpoint A to H: Ramp up or ramp down to a preset level (8 programmable levels)
- Set value level: Set load intensity to a specified level
- Variable Ramp Up/Down speed: Increase or decrease level at a rate programmed by the user
- Night mode: Set current operation to a programmed Night level (Max. level) on Ramp up and Set On commands
- Generic Timers: Sends a command, then wait for a specified number of seconds before sending the next command. It is possible to chain up to 5 Generic timers or Delayed timers, to create sequences (5 programmable Generic timers available)
- Delayed Timers: Wait for a specified number of seconds before sending a command. It is possible to chain up to 5 Delayed timers or Generic timers, to create sequences (5 programmable Delayed timers available)
CAUTIONS AND NOTES
- Use only where min. 90°C wiring is used.
- These devices are intended for installation in accordance with your local electric code and regulations. It is recommended that a qualified electrician perform this installation.
- A transmitter is required to communicate with the module and is sold separately. (Specify INT-MIO sensor board to be used with 0-10V thermostats, Lux sensors, or Dry-contact occupancy sensors, or INT-EO to be used with EnOcean wireless thermostats, or MOD-USB, MOD-ETH or MOD-XBDM to be used with DimOnOff® Configuration, Control & Monitoring software)
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
- Disconnect power at the circuit breaker before installation
- Open the electrical compartment of the load, and identify the Line, Neutral and Ground wires. Identify the conductor that supplies power to the load that you want to control.
- Attach the REL-R-15 inside the electrical compartment using the module mounting bracket. Connect the supply Ground wire (G) together with the module mounting bracket and the grounding screw.
- Disconnect the Line wire that had supplied power to the load that you want to control.
- Connect the disconnected wire of the fixture to the Blue lead of the REL-R-15. Connect the supply Line wire (L) to the Black lead of the REL-R-15.
- Connect the white lead of the REL-R-15 together with the supply Neutral wire (N).
- Close the compartment cover and restore power
- For option A (Analog 0-10 VDC output), connect Purple & Grey wires to 0-10 VDC input of the electronic dimming ballast
