Virtual Room Controler OVERVIEW
The Virtual Room Controller is part of a suite of Widget (or Gadgets) developed by DimOnOff that represents a revolutionary approach to building automation by allowing standard control devices such as light switches and thermostats to become virtual (on a PC desktop, anywhere on the Internet).
The VRC is associated to a temperature sensor and to one or more heating devices controlled by a DimOnOff Modulating relay. Once the system receives a temperature update or if setpoint is modified, the system recalculates the required modulation factor, in order to reach the setpoint and sends a command to the heating devices.
Nowadays, pretty much every office is equipped with a computer linked to a network, this approach provides a very low cost solution to provide end users control over their environment. It is well suited for boardroom and common areas too.
When used with EnOcean technology based temperature sensors, this represents the most effective and environment friendly solution available today, not requiring any batteries or wires to be installed.
FEATURES
-Events triggered by the system or external devices can change the setpoint (ex: triggering of a motion sensor or light switch)
-Set-points can be changed at will through the scheduler
- The server manages the PID loop calculations and sends the modulation values to modulating relays or to analog outputs. This is done independently by the server so that the computer on which resides the widget is not required to be left ON or even be on site.
-Occupied/unoccupied buttons - are linkable to programmable scenarios (which can turn lights ON and OFF and adjust the set-point)
A user friendly graphical interface makes configuration of groups, scenarios and links sensors and control devices a breeze.
The VRC can be integrated into a complete building automation system network from DimOnOff with Data acquisition and remote management over Ethernet or tied to a 3rd party system using DimOnOff's BACnet interface or Multi I/O interfaces.
