DimOnOff officially launches its multi-technology approach at Contech tradeshow.

After many months of research and development, DimOnOff has managed to combine the use of 7 different telecommunication technologies into the most versatile hybrid control and monitoring system. This new system brings together EnOcean products for short range wireless batteryless sensors and controls, powerline communication relays and interfaces for short, medium and long range and harsh environments, XBEE wireless mesh networking, self discovery and self healing technology for relays and interfaces, low voltage twisted pair relays and interfaces, RS232/RS485 interfaces and WIFI and Ethernet devices.
All of those can be used in any combinations to cover all type of lighting control and automation situations. With every technology having its weaknesses and strengths, the new hybrid approach make it possible to easily switch to another technology only to work with the strengths of each. Dimonoff joins the EnOcean Alliance

Dimonoff Commits to EnOcean Standard for Energy-Harvesting Wireless Technology in Buildings

Québec City, 14 May 2009 - Dimonoff is pleased to announce that it has now officially joined the rapidly growing international family of members of the EnOcean Alliance. The EnOcean Alliance is a consortium of companies working to further develop and promote self-powered wireless monitoring and control systems for sustainable buildings by formalizing the interoperable wireless standard. With membership totalling 100 companies in the building services market from 20 different countries, the EnOcean Alliance offers over 350 interoperable products and deployments have reached over 100,000 buildings globally.

Dimonoff sees great potential in the wireless and battery-less sensor interface already being deployed by various members of the Alliance. ", said Bernard Têtu, President at Dimonoff. Dimonoff has shown for the first time to MCEE visitors it's new lighting control relay designed for T5HO multi-ballasts fluorescent fixtures. This relay features three independently controlled outputs. It is therefore possible to obtain 1/3, 2/3 or 3/3 of the total light output, offering additional energy savings. Its distinctive innovation resides in the modules' ability to constantly optimize each lamp burn-time by automatically selecting at each start which lamps should be used in regards to their current cumulated burn-time.

The relay features a rugged design that allows to be installed on a fixtureindoor or outdoor and create flexible, smart automation systems for commercial, municipal and industrial lighting.

PROGRAMMABILITY

The REL-XB-5-MON relays are configurable modules. Each relay can be easily programmed in order to implement personalized set-ups. DimOnOff® Inc. has designed a full-featured software platform, for the complete management of a DimOnOff® infrastructure, including:

- Module configuration
- Creation/Editing of global or individual Scenarios - Commands - Groups - Schedules
- Creation/Editing of Multi-sites, Multi-areas, Multi-sub areas navigation interface and Module layouts
- Easy user photos and maps integration
- Robust SQL Database management
- Communication management with Remote site terminal units via Internet or cellular networks
- Data logging
- Etc.

Wire theft alarm requires additional components
Some options require 3rd party component in order to provide proper signal to the relay.
Dimming HI-LO Bi-Level dimming module with dual-capacitor circuit: to save 40% or more ofenergy,we can schedule the dimming to reduce the light power during predefine hours or to reduce energy requirements during peak periods. Module provides required start time protection to HI level to prevent Lamps and ballast damage. Relay is provided with two impendent output wired to connect to a dual-capacitor module. Note additional installation may be required to replace existing capacitors and arrange wiring accordingly. (See Options)
