Load Module for Ballast Lighting Applications
OVERVIEW / DOO-R-LMDB-2.5
Member of the DimOnOff® building automation series, the DOO-R-LMBD-2.5 is a 2.5amp Powerline (Receive-only) module that provides remote control of fluorescent dimming ballasts, and daylight harvesting features when used in conjunction with a Lux sensor (DOO-RT-Lux).
The module features a small and compact design that allows to be installed inside a fluorescent ballast compartment.
The DOO-R-LMBD-2.5 is designed to be used in conjunction with one or more transceivers (e.g., DOO-RT-Key-6 Keypad Controllers, DOO-RT-MIO sensor board, DOO-RT-Lux LuxMeter, etc.), or directly with the DimOnOff® Configuration, Control & Monitoring software.
With these different powerline modules, complex automation environments can be designed and operated.

PROGRAMMABLE FUNCTIONS
The DOO-R-LMBD-2.5 includes various programmable functions, such as:
- Last level after Blackout
- Delayed power up, with a user-defined delay (in sec.)
- Ramp Up/Down: Go to the maximum level or dims off within a specified number of seconds
- Go to Setpoint A to H: Ramp up or ramp down to a preset level (8 programmable levels)
- Set value level: Set load intensity to a specified level
- Increase/Decrease: Manually increase or decrease level at a rate programmed by the user
- Night mode: Set current operation to a programmed Night level (Max. level) on Ramp up and Set On commands
- Generic Timers: Sends a command, then wait for a specified number of seconds before sending the next command. It is possible to chain up to 5 Generic timers or Delayed timers, to create sequences (5 programmable Generic timers available)
- Delayed Timers: Wait for a specified number of seconds before sending a command. It is possible to chain up to 5 Delayed timers or Generic timers, to create sequences (5 programmable Delayed timers available)
PROGRAMMABILITY
The DOO-R-LMDB-2.5 relays are configurable modules. Each relay can be easily programmed in order to implement personalized set-ups. DimOnOff® Inc. has designed a full-featured software platform, for the complete management of a DimOnOff® powerline infrastructure, including:
- Module configuration
- Creation/Editing of the user-defined library of Scenarios - Commands - Groups - Schedules
- Creation/Editing of Multi-buildings, Multi-floors, Multi-rooms navigation interface and Module layouts
- Database management
- Communication management with Remote Powerline-Ethernet modems
- Data logging
- Etc.
CAUTIONS AND NOTES
The DOO-R-LMBD-2.5 must be installed inside fixtures or into an electrical box with proper size.
Only used for junction boxes where min. 90°C wiring is used.
These devices are intended for installation in accordance with your local electric code and regulations. It is recommended that a qualified electrician perform this installation.
A transmitter is required to communicate with the module and is sold separately. (Specify DOO-RT-Key-6 Powerline keypad, or DOO-Mod-USB or DOO-Mod-Eth to be used with DimOnOff® Configuration, Control & Monitoring software

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
- Disconnect power at the circuit breaker before installation
- Open the fluorescent electrical compartment and identify the Line, Neutral and Ground wires. Identify the conductor that supplies power to the ballast that you want to control.
- Attach the DOO-R-LMBD-2.5 inside the electrical compartment using the module mounting bracket. Connect the supply Ground wire (G) together with the module mounting bracket and the grounding screw.
- Disconnect the Line wire that had supplied power to the lamp that you want to control.
- Connect the disconnected wire of the fixture to the Blue lead of the DOO-R-LMBD-2.5. Connect the supply Line wire (L) to the Black lead of the DOO-R-LMBD-2.5.
- Connect the white lead of the DOO-R-LMBD-2.5 together with the supply Neutral wire (N).
- Connect the purple wire to be Ballast 0-10 V input
- Place wires and module into the fixture.
- Close the compartment cover and restore power.
