C’est fait ici, ICI Québec’s programme on companies from the greater Quebec City area, devoted the tenth episode of its first season to Dimonoff. Host Bruno Savard visited the team on 20 May 2022, and the segment led with smart street lighting and the Mississauga conversion.
The most useful part of the broadcast was not ours. Sylvain Juneau, mayor of Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, told the programme that his municipality had saved roughly $100,000 a year in electricity, and eliminated about $50,000 a year it used to spend replacing halogen bulbs. A customer saying that on public television is worth more than any figure a supplier publishes about itself.
Founding president Bernard Têtu described what changed underneath: a lighting network stops being electrical equipment and becomes a data network — control, monitoring, updates and whatever is added later, carried over a private connection the city owns rather than rents.
