Digi International named Dimonoff the 2025 Green Tech Award winner in the Smart City Lighting category, announced days before Earth Day. The award goes to technology providers whose deployments measurably reduce energy use and carbon emissions.
The connection between the two companies is in the radio: Dimonoff’s wireless nodes use Digi XBee radios, and the self-healing DigiMesh network they form is what carries dimming schedules, energy metering and fault alerts between the poles and the platform. From one dashboard, a city dims or brightens by zone, meters consumption at each fixture, and dispatches a crew when a diagnostic — not a phone call — says something is wrong.
Digi cited the Laval and Columbus deployments. Laval put 37,000 luminaires and 5,000 dynamic signage panels on the same network; Columbus is converting its lighting system in phases on the same platform. Both are documented in full, with sources, in the case studies on this site.
