Dimonoff | SCMS received two awards from IoT Evolution World in 2024: the Smart City Product of the Year Award, co-awarded with The Smart City Sentinel, and the IoT Security Excellence Award.
Both citations pointed at the same deployment. Laval put 37,000 smart streetlights on the platform, then added thousands of dynamic signage panels to the mesh those streetlights already formed — one interface for both, and no second network to build, power or maintain. What the judges singled out was that integration rather than either system on its own.
The security award recognised the platform’s handling of encryption, data transmission and access control. That matters more in a project like Laval’s than the phrase suggests: signage panels that tell drivers where they may park are worth attacking in a way that a light level is not, and they sit on the same network.
Rich Tehrani, CEO of TMC, co-publisher of The Smart City Sentinel, and Carl Ford of IoT Evolution World both cited the work with Ville de Laval in their announcements.
